In Denmark, Café Globen is quite unique in being the first and (so far) only cafe in the country exclusively owned and run by travellers.
All of the more than 50 "shareholders" are prominent members of Travellers Guild (www.berejst.dk)
and as so, the cafe is supposed to be a meeting point for travellers, Danish as well as foreigners.

Being a travellers cafe, the supply of drinks reaches beyond Danish, and should you miss a great Argentinian claret, a Guatemaltecan Ron Centenario,
a Thai Beer Chang or genuine Nicaraguan Max Havelaar coffee, chances are that we can do something about it. Furthermore, since all the staff are
travellers themselves, Cafe Globen is not a bad place to get information. "Unfortunately", some of us know a bit more about South Africa and Papua
New Guinea than Copenhagen!

At least once a week (usually Thursday), one of the members will give a slide show from "somewhere" and, as quite a few of us are experienced
photographers as well as writers, these sessions are professional and entertaining. And, as the focus of the club has always been far and remote
destinations rather than homely and comfy Europe, most of these slide shows will deal with comparatively unusual places. You are more likely to
see Afghanistan, Iran and The Falkland Islands on stage rather than Ibiza and Mallorca. Check the link at the left ("arrangementer") to see
what's on this months schedule, although you'll have to do with the Danish edition. If in doubt, just show up; the shows are for free and it's
hard not to be inspired.
